Innovation is the cornerstone of the Delhi Fashion Week. ‘12 by Delhi Fashion Week’ in Dubai had set the context of introducing interesting features within the existing format to reach out to wider audience. This season the Delhi Fashion Week is all set to introduce the concept of ‘off-site’ show.

rohid bal,s will be unveiling his elaborate collection at the Delhi Fashion Week this season. The show is divided in two series to differentiate his prêt line from his more dramatic and elaborate line. The series will open with a ‘intimae show’ at the Emporio showcasing his prêt line like never before and will set the ball rolling for the drama to culminate at his chosen off-site. The show will be held at his restaurant at Janpath.

Sumeet Nair, Head of the Delhi Fashion Week thrilled about this addition said, ‘We are extremely excited about adding off site shows this season. This season we have introduced this concept with Rohit Bal who can pull off an off-site with equal ease and panache as he will while doing the show at the Emporio. The openness fostered by Delhi Fashion Week and its forward thinking has made this ‘first’ possible. This is a leadership position and you will see many designers following this example’.

Following the international practice the show will be on the calendar of Delhi Fashion Week with the same sponsors, talent teams, choreographers and backstage helpers at a different venue.

According to Rohit Bal, the designer showing at the Delhi Fashion Week added, ‘I will show a more commercial collection at the Emporio with the intention of focusing on the business of fashion. The collection showcased at the Emporio will be purely prêt a Porte and is a part of my main collection’

Every season everyone expects something new and unique. They also like to experience innovative and creative presentations. So this season I have decided to do my show in a different environment which has the right ambience to infuse a sense of freshness and unique presentation style. Internationally every designer has the freedom to choose a different venue while they are associated with the on going show. I am strongly entrenched with the Delhi Fashion Week and the Fashion Foundation of India and together we think that eventually this is the way to take fashion forward.’

An innovative format to match the global standards in fashion, the Delhi Fashion Week will set new benchmarks for the Indian fashion industry and create greater opportunities for designers. The mainstay of the event is to bring the most creative talent to the forefront and make Delhi an important fashion destination. Delhi Fashion Week is organized by Prodigy Fashion and endorsed by the Fashion Foundation of India. Delhi Fashion Week will feature a mix of the most renowned and emerging fashion talent in the country.

Fashion Foundation of India, the apex body of fashion, is a not for profit organization founded with a purpose of capacity building for the Fashion Design and Manufacturing Industry. It is set up with the intent of bringing together leaders from across sectors to help grow the fashion and design industry in India as well as overseas. The Society will be a proactive body involved in multiple design, fashion, and craft initiatives to help advance the industry. The Foundation will work closely with designers to understand their needs and bottlenecks and endeavor to provide customized solutions and work towards marketing India as a ‘design hub
